About the Post
POWERGRID has invited online applications for one-year Apprenticeship Training in the North Eastern Region. Eligible ITI, Diploma and Engineering Graduate candidates can apply for training opportunities in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.
The apprenticeship is available in ITI Electrician, Diploma Electrical, Diploma Civil, Graduate Electrical and Graduate Civil trades. Selected candidates can receive a monthly stipend of up to ₹17,500, with an additional ₹2,500 in applicable cases where company accommodation is not provided or availed.

Important Eligibility Conditions
Candidates must:
- Be an Indian citizen.
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
- Hold a full-time regular qualification from a recognized institute or university.
- Have passed the required qualification within two years from the closing date.
- Be medically fit as per the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961.
- Have an active Aadhaar-seeded and DBT-enabled bank account.
Candidates are not eligible if they:
- Are awaiting their final examination result.
- Have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training.
- Have more than one year of job experience.
- Hold the required qualification through part-time, correspondence, distance or online mode.
Salary
Selected apprentices will receive the following monthly stipend:

Selection Process
There will be no written examination and no interview for POWERGRID Apprentice Recruitment 2026.
The selection process will mainly include:
Merit-Based Shortlisting → Document Verification → Final Merit List → Medical Certificate and Police Verification → Apprenticeship Contract
Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit according to their eligibility, prescribed qualification and available training slots.
Shortlisted candidates may be called for document verification in a 1:5 ratio against the available training slots.
The final engagement will be made based on merit among candidates found eligible during document verification.
Important Points for Candidates
- Candidates should apply for only one state/region and one trade.
- Multiple applications may lead to rejection of candidature.
- There is no application fee.
- There is no written examination or interview.
- Candidates must register on the appropriate apprenticeship portal before applying to POWERGRID.
- ITI candidates must register through NAPS.
- Diploma and Graduate Engineering candidates must register through NATS.
- Candidates should keep their apprenticeship profile 100% complete and updated.
- The training location may be anywhere within the selected state depending on POWERGRID’s requirement.
- No TA/DA will be paid for document verification.
- Selected candidates cannot pursue a regular course or job during the apprenticeship period.
- Apprenticeship completion does not provide any right to permanent employment in POWERGRID.
- Incorrect information or invalid documents can result in rejection at any stage.
- Candidates should ensure that their name and date of birth match across their 10th certificate, Aadhaar card and bank account.

Applying for the POWERGRID Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is simple. Candidates should complete the apprenticeship portal registration first and then submit the POWERGRID online application.
Step 1: Register on the Apprenticeship Portal
Candidates applying for ITI Electrician should register on the NAPS portal.
Candidates applying for Diploma or Graduate Engineering trades should register on the NATS portal.
Complete your profile properly and upload the required documents.
Step 2: Keep Your Registration Details Ready
After completing registration, note down your Apprenticeship Registration/Enrolment Number. Your profile should be fully completed before applying to POWERGRID.
Step 3: Apply on the POWERGRID Website
Visit the official POWERGRID website and go to:
Careers → Engagement of Apprentices → Apply Online
Select the relevant advertisement for the North Eastern Region and fill in your application carefully.
Step 4: Upload Required Documents
Upload clear and readable copies of your educational certificates, mark sheets, identity proof, caste certificate if applicable, bank details, photograph and other required documents.
Step 5: Submit the Application
Check all details carefully before final submission.
Since there is no application fee, candidates do not need to make any payment.
