The North East Frontier Railway (NFR) invites eligible and willing doctors for Walk-in Interviews for engagement as Contract Medical Practitioners (CMP) on a Full-Time Contract Basis in the Guwahati area under Central Hospital, Maligaon. This recruitment is for qualified doctors who wish to serve in the healthcare division of Indian Railways under the Central Hospital, Maligaon (Guwahati). Selected candidates will work on medical and healthcare duties, assisting in the treatment and management of railway employees and their families. | Educational Qualification | MBBS degree from an institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) with valid registration under MCI or any State Medical Council after one year of compulsory rotatory internship. |
| Age Limit (as on 01.11.2025) | Not exceeding 60 years. Retired Railway, State, or Central Government Doctors up to 65 years (and fit up to 70 years) may also apply. |
| Experience (Desirable) | Prior work experience in government or reputed hospitals will be preferred. |

Period of Contract
- Engagement will be for one year or until replaced by UPSC-selected doctors, whichever is earlier.
- Can be extended up to 20 terms (one year each) or till the candidate attains 65 years of age.
- For retired Government Doctors, the maximum number of terms is 10, subject to age limit.
Selection Process
The selection will be done through a Walk-in Interview.
Documents required at the time of interview:
- Original and self-attested copies of all certificates/testimonials
- Two passport-size photographs
- Proof of Date of Birth
- MBBS degree and registration certificate
- Experience certificates (if any)
- Valid Income & Asset Certificate (for EWS candidates, as per DOPT format dated 31.01.2019)
Wait-listed or standby candidates may also be considered based on administrative requirements.

- Retired Government doctors must bring their Pension Payment Order (PPO), Service Certificate, and Last Pay Certificate (LPC).
