About Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Canara Bank has released an employment notification for the recruitment of 3,500 Graduate Apprentice vacancies under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 for the financial year 2026-2027.

Eligible graduates can apply for the apprenticeship programme through the prescribed online application process. Candidates must first register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal and ensure that their NATS profile is 100% complete before applying for the Canara Bank apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year, during which selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹16,650, including subsidy amount, if any, provided by the Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

• A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India; or
• Any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Graduation Passing Period

Candidates must have passed their graduation:

Not earlier than 01 January 2023 and not later than 01 September 2026, both dates inclusive.

The age of the candidate must be between 20 and 28 years as on 01 September 2026.

Candidates must have been born:

• Not earlier than 02 September 1998, and
• Not later than 01 September 2006

Both dates are inclusive.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates must have knowledge of the specified local language of the state/UT for which they are applying.

Candidates who produce a 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/certificate showing that they have studied the specified opted local language will not be required to undergo the local language test.

For other candidates, a test of knowledge of the local language will be conducted as part of the selection process when the candidate is called for Document Verification by the Bank.

Candidates who fail to qualify in the local language test will not be engaged as apprentices.

The engagement of selected apprentices will be subject to the candidate being declared medically fit as per the requirements of Canara Bank.

Selection Process

The selection of Graduate Apprentices will be based on a state-wise merit list.

The merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in:

• 12th Standard (HSC/10+2), or
• Diploma

Candidates with higher percentages will be ranked higher.

If two candidates have the same percentage, the older candidate will be placed higher in the merit list.

Important: Percentages will not be rounded off.

For example, 59.99% will not qualify for a requirement of 60%.

Document Verification

The merit list will be prepared entirely on the basis of the information provided in the online application.

Document verification will also include the applicable local language test.
