The Directorate of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Assam invites online applications from eligible and permanent residents of Assam for admission into the one-year VFA (Veterinary Field Assistant) Training Course in Elementary Knowledge of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science for the session 2024-25.

The training will be conducted at the School of Veterinary Science & A.H., Ghungoor, Silchar and its extended campuses. A total of 200 seats are available under the existing reservation policy of the Government of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Domicile: Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
  • Educational Qualification: HSSLC (Science) passed with Biology as a subject from a recognized Board/Council.
  • PRC: Must possess a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) or proof of application submitted before the DC’s office.
  • Age (as on 01.01.2025):
    • Minimum: 18 years
    • Maximum: 30 years

Relaxation in Upper Age Limit:

  • OBC/MOBC: 3 years
  • SC/ST(P)/ST(H): 5 years

Selection Process

The selection of candidates shall be based on a Personality Assessment Test (PAT) comprising:
