Is there an application fee for Women candidates?
No. Women applicants are completely exempted from payment of the application fee for both posts.
Can I apply for the Junior Assistant post if I am a fresher?
Yes, the requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree with knowledge of computer office applications. No prior experience is explicitly mandated in the “Educational Qualification” section for Junior Assistant.
Do I need to send the hard copy of the application to IIT Guwahati?
No. The advertisement clearly states that no physical copy of the application or documents is required to be sent. You only need to apply online.
What is the age limit for regular employees of IIT Guwahati?
There is no upper age limit for internal regular employees of IIT Guwahati applying for these posts.
I am working in a PSU. Do I need an NOC?

What is the cutoff date for calculating Age and Experience?
The date for determination of age and experience is the last date of submission of the online application, i.e., 13.01.2026.
Is there a reservation for PwBD candidates?
Yes. For Junior Assistants, one post out of the additional vacancies arising after the promotional process shall be reserved for PwBD candidates. PwBD applicants are also exempted from fees.
Can I edit my application after submission?
No. Application once submitted cannot be altered or resubmitted under any circumstances. Please check all details carefully before final submission.
How will I know about the Written Test or Interview schedule?
All correspondence (call letters, etc.) will be made through email only. Candidates are advised to check their registered email and the Institute website regularly.
What documents are valid for caste verification?
Reserved category applicants must upload the latest Caste certificate. For OBC(NCL) and EWS, the certificate must be issued by the Competent Authority and should not be more than one year old from the closing date of the application.
