About the Post

Assam State Eligibility Test (SLET) 2026 is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in higher educational institutions across the North-Eastern Region. Candidates qualifying SLET will be considered eligible as per UGC norms within the participating states.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent from a UGC-recognized University.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • General / EWS: 55%
    • OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD: 50%
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of Master’s degree may apply provisionally.

Age Limit

  • No upper age limit for appearing in SLET 2026.
