About the Post

The Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India, has invited applications for the post of Director at the North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management (NERIWALM), Tezpur, Assam. The position will be filled on a Deputation (including Short-Term Contract) basis from eligible officers serving under Central/State Governments, Union Territories, PSUs, Universities, and other eligible institutions. The Director will serve as the full-time Chief Executive and Academic Officer of NERIWALM.

Eligibility Criteria

Criteria	Details
Officers Eligible	Officers under the Central/State Governments, Union Territories, PSUs, Universities, Recognized Research Institutions, Semi-Government, Autonomous, or Statutory Organizations.
Required Position Level	(i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis; OR (ii) With 2 years’ regular service in Level–13A (Rs. 1,31,100 – Rs. 2,16,600); OR (iii) With 3 years’ regular service in Level–13 (Rs. 1,23,100 – Rs. 2,15,900).
Educational Qualification	(a) Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Civil Engineering with Master’s Degree in Water Resource Engineering / Hydrology / Irrigation Water Management / Soil & Water Conservation or equivalent with Ph.D. and published works. OR (b) B.Sc. in Agricultural Science with M.Sc. in Agriculture (specialization in Agronomy, Soil Science, or Irrigation Water Management) with Ph.D. and good publications. OR (c) Master’s Degree in Sociology, Social Work, Statistics, or Geography with Ph.D. and published works.
Experience	Not less than 15 years of experience in Teaching/Administration/Research/Water/Agriculture, of which 2/3 years should be in Level–13A/Level–13 respectively.
Age Limit	Not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of application.

Tenure and Terms of Deputation

• The period of deputation (including Short-Term Contract) shall normally be 3 years, extendable up to 5 years.
• The service rendered before 01 January 2016 shall be treated as per corresponding levels under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• Departmental officers in the feeder grade are not eligible for consideration on deputation.
• Deputationists will not be eligible for promotion within the department.
