Indian Army has released the official notification for the recruitment of Agniveer Vacancies 2026 under the Agnipath Scheme across the country. A Common Entrance Exam (CEE) will be organized as part of the selection process. Interested and eligible candidates who wish to join the Indian Army as a soldier can apply online between 13th February 2026 and 10th April 2026.

Eligibility Criteria for Army Agniveer

Age Limit: The age of the candidate should be between 17 years 6 months and 22 years. Candidates born between 01 July 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

Educational Qualification:

  • Agniveer (General Duty): Class 10th pass with 45% aggregate marks and 33% in each subject. Candidates with a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) Driving License will be preferred for Driver roles.
  • Agniveer (Technical): 10+2/Intermediate pass in Science (Physics, Maths, and English) with 50% aggregate. Alternatively, candidates with a 10th pass (50% aggregate) and a two-year Technical Training from ITI or a 2/3 year Diploma in specific technical streams are also eligible.
  • Agniveer Clerk/ Store Keeper (Technical): 10+2/Intermediate pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, or Science) with 60% aggregate and 50% in each subject. Mandatory 50% in English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class XII.
  • Agniveer Tradesmen (10th Pass): Class 10th pass with 33% in each subject.
  • Agniveer Tradesmen (8th Pass): Class 8th pass with 33% in each subject.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of two primary phases:

Phase I: Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE)

  • Date of Exam: 1st to 15th June 2026 (Tentative).
  • Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • Negative Marking: 25% marks deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Normalization: Marks will be normalized to account for different difficulty levels across sessions.

Phase II: Recruitment Rally Shortlisted candidates from Phase I will undergo:

  1. Physical Fitness Test (PFT).
  2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT).
  3. Adaptability Test: A tablet/mobile-based test to ensure candidates can adapt to military life.
  4. Medical Examination: Conducted by the Army Medical Team.
