Pay Scale / Remuneration

The GDS are paid a Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) with an annual increase of 3%:

  • Branch Postmaster (BPM): ₹12,000 – ₹29,380
  • ABPM / Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 – ₹24,470

How to Apply?

Candidates must follow the online engagement process strictly:

  1. One-Time Registration (OTR): Register at the portal between 31 January 2026 and 14 February 2026 to get a unique Registration Number.
  2. Online Application: Login and submit choices for posts/divisions between 02 February 2026 and 16 February 2026.
  3. Uploads: Recent photograph (30-100 KB) and signature (20-100 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
  4. Fee Payment: ₹100/- (Exempted for Females, SC/ST, PwBD, and Trans-women).
  5. Correction Window: If any mistakes occur, an edit window is available on 18-19 February 2026.

What is the last date to send the application via email?

Applications are not accepted via email. You must apply online by 16 February 2026.

Can B.Tech graduates apply?

Yes, but selection is based strictly on 10th standard marks only. Higher degrees grant no extra weightage.

Is this a permanent Central Govt job?

No. GDS are holders of Civil Posts but are outside the regular Civil Service. They work 4-5 hours a day.

What is the maximum salary?

For BPM, the TRCA slab goes up to ₹29,380 plus DA and other allowances.

Will I get TA/DA for the interview?

There is no interview; however, no TA/DA is provided for the Physical Verification of documents.

What time should I reach the verification venue?

You must report to the Divisional Head within 15 days of being shortlisted in the merit list.

Where is the postal circle office?

Offices are located across India; you must select one Division within one Circle during application.

Do I need to bring original documents?

Yes. Original 10th marksheet, Caste certificate, and Medical certificate are mandatory for verification.

How many vacancies are there?

Thousands across India. Check the “Vacancy Position” on the portal for specific Divisions.

Can I apply if I don’t know cycling?

No. Knowledge of cycling is a mandatory prerequisite for all GDS posts.
