This recruitment aims to hire medical professionals on a contract basis for Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) – a 910-bedded multispecialty hospital – and for hospitals & OHS units in SAIL Mines (Kiriburu–Meghahatuburu & Gua Mines), with 175 beds collectively.

The engagement is initially for 1 year (extendable yearly, up to 3 years, subject to upper age limit of 70 years and satisfactory performance).

  • Registration with MCI/NMC/SMC/DCI is mandatory.

  2. Fill the form in CAPITAL LETTERS and bring:

      • Valid Medical Registration Certificate

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is this a permanent job or contractual?

This is a purely contractual engagement. It does not provide any right to permanent employment with SAIL.

Do I need prior experience to apply?

Experience is preferred, but even fresh MBBS/BDS/PG/DNB candidates can attend, provided they meet all eligibility criteria.

Can retired SAIL or PSU doctors apply?

Yes, retired doctors can apply, as long as they did not opt for voluntary retirement (VRS).

What is the maximum age allowed?

Candidates up to 69 years can apply. Engagement can continue until 70 years depending on annual performance review.

Will accommodation be provided?

Yes. Company accommodation may be provided depending on availability. At mines, accommodation is rent-free.

Is there any leave facility?

Consultants get 10 days of leave per year with prior approval.

Are medical benefits included?

Ex-SAIL employees retain their benefits. Others receive medical facilities for self and spouse at the unit hospital only.

What is the duty schedule?

Minimum 8 hours per day for 6 days a week (48 hours). Less hours are allowed on a pro-rata payment basis.

What documents must I carry for the interview?

Originals + one set of self-attested copies of educational certificates, DOB proof, experience certificates, ID proof, and medical registration certificate.

What happens after the interview?

Selection is followed by medical screening. Engagement starts immediately after issuance of the engagement order.
