Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfil the educational qualification, experience, age and skill requirements prescribed for the post.

Contract Duration
The engagement will initially be for a period of one year.
The contract may be renewed depending on:
- Performance of the Project Officer
- Continuation of support to the department
- Availability of funds under SDRF
The engagement is purely contractual and does not confer any right to regular appointment or further benefits under the State Government.
Either party may terminate the contract by giving 15 working days’ written notice to the other party.
Selection Process
Candidates shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria may be required to appear for:
- Written Test
- Computer Test
- Interview
The exact selection procedure and the number of candidates to be called will be decided by ASDMA.
No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the written test, computer test or interview.
Roles & Responsibilities
The selected Project Officer will be responsible for disaster-management-related activities, including:
- Assisting departments in preparation and updating of Departmental Disaster Management Plans.
- Assisting in designing and conducting capacity-building activities.
- Conducting awareness-generation programmes for departmental functionaries.
- Assisting in preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Documenting critical departmental-level disaster management challenges and practices.
- Submitting progress reports according to the formats and timelines decided by the Authority.
- Performing any other disaster-management-related duties assigned by the Authority.
Salary & Benefits
The total cost to ASDMA for the Project Officer (Disaster Management) is ₹37,000 per month. The indicative breakup is as follows:

The compensation is subject to Income Tax and Assam Professional Tax deductions as applicable.
The Project Officer will not be entitled to additional payment for overtime or any other allowance beyond the specified compensation.
The Project Officer will also be entitled to 12 days of Casual Leave and other leave as decided by ASDMA for the incumbent.
Working Hours
The Project Officer is expected to follow the working hours applicable to employees of the Government of Assam.
The officer may also be required to work beyond official working hours due to exigencies of work.
