About the Post

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the official notification for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP SPL-XVI) for recruitment of Specialist Officers (SO) in Participating Public Sector Banks for the vacancies of 2027–28. A total of 745 vacancies have been announced for various Specialist Officer posts including IT Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer. (IBPS)

The online application process starts from 1st July 2026 and will remain open till 21st July 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official IBPS website.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Applicants must be:

• Citizen of India, or
• Subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
• Tibetan Refugee (subject to Government rules), or
• Person of Indian Origin migrated from specified countries.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification varies according to the post applied for.

IT Officer (Scale-I)

• 4-Year Engineering Degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications/IT/Electronics/Electronics & Telecommunications/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation.
• OR Postgraduate Degree in Computer Science/Computer Applications/IT/Electronics.

Agricultural Field Officer

• Four-year Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Dairy Science, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Forestry, Food Technology, etc.

Rajbhasha Adhikari

• Postgraduate Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at Graduation level.
• OR Postgraduate Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects.

Law Officer

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council.

HR/Personnel Officer

• Graduate and Two-Year Full-Time Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Personnel Management, Human Resource, HRD, Social Work or Labour Law.

Marketing Officer

• Graduate and Two-Year Full-Time MMS/MBA/PGDBA/PGDBM/PGPM with specialization in Marketing.
