About the Post

Assam Inland Water Transport Development (AIWTD) Society has released an official notification for the recruitment of an Environmental Specialist. Interested and eligible candidates may attend the walk-in interview as per the schedule below.

Remuneration

  • Salary: Up to Rs. 1,30,000/- per month or 20% hike on existing remuneration, whichever is lower.
  • Negotiable Salary: Depending on qualification, experience, and competency.
  • HR Policy: Final remuneration will be determined as per the AIWTDS HR Policy.

Period of Service

  • The contract is initially valid till 31/12/2025.
  • Extension is possible on an annual basis based on satisfactory performance as assessed by the State Project Director, AIWTD Society.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s/Postgraduate Degree in:
    • Environmental Planning
    • Environmental Engineering
    • Environmental Sciences
    • Other relevant disciplines

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in:
    • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), environmental modeling, and preparation of Environmental Management Plans.
    • Implementation of World Bank Environmental Safeguard Policies and ESHS guidelines.
    • Field assessment of project site issues, vulnerabilities, risks, and monitoring projects during implementation.
    • Working as an environmental expert in major infrastructure projects, preferably in the Inland Water Transport (IWT) sector.
    • Proficiency in computers for database management and report generation.
    • Excellent communication skills in English & Hindi (Knowledge of Assamese is preferable).
