Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian, or valid citizen of Nepal/Bhutan/Tibetan refugee (pre-1962), or migrated from specified countries with eligibility certificate
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Specialists: Relevant professional degrees like MBBS, LLB, CA, B.Tech, etc.
    • Generalists: Graduate/Postgraduate with ≥60% (55% for SC/ST)
  • Age (as of 1 May 2025): 21–30 years, relaxations apply:
    • SC/ST: +5 years | OBC-NCL: +3 years | PwBD: +10 years
    • Ex-servicemen, defence-disabled, PSU, etc., have specific relaxations
  • Scribe/Assistive arrangements: Available for PwBD candidates with proof; compensatory time provided

Selection Procedure

Part A — Online Examination

Phase I – Preliminary Exam (100 Marks, 60 Minutes)

Phase II – Main Examination

Objective Test (250 marks)

  • Generalists: 5 sections × 50 marks each (Reasoning, English, GA, Computer, Quant)
  • Specialists: Same + technical section (6th section) × 50 marks
  • Duration: 3 hours, separately timed sections

Descriptive Test (30 marks)

  • Administered online immediately after the objective test
  • Covers Essay (10), Précis (10), Comprehension (10) in English
  • Qualifying nature; evaluated only for objective-test qualifiers
  • Negative Marking: –0.25 per incorrect answer in objective tests
  • Final cutoff involves objective marks only; descriptive is qualifying.

Phase III – Interview

  • Eligible candidates from Phase II are called
  • Weightage: Online Objective (80%) + Interview (20%)
  • Tie-breaking: Higher interview marks, then older age
  • Final selection is based on cumulative score after interview
  • Final Merit Lists: For vacancies and a 50% waiting list
  • Appointment: Subject to medical fitness and service eligibility

Candidates can apply online only from 12th June 2025 to 3rd July 2025 (both dates inclusive). No other mode of application will be accepted.

Important Instructions Before Registration

Before proceeding with the online application, candidates must:

  1. Scan and prepare the following documents in the prescribed format:
    • Recent photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
    • Signature (with black ink)
    • Left thumb impression (on white paper using black or blue ink)
      • If left thumb is unavailable, use right thumb.
      • If both thumbs are missing, use the left forefinger, and so on.
      • If no fingers are available, left toe impression may be used.
      • In such cases, clearly specify the part used for impression in the uploaded document.
    • Handwritten declaration (in English, written by the candidate in black ink on white paper) Text for declaration:
      “I, ________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
  2. Specifications to follow:
    • Declaration must be handwritten by the candidate (not typed or in capital letters).
    • Uploads should not be smudged or unclear.
    • Documents not adhering to specifications will lead to rejection of the application.
  3. Do not use CAPITAL LETTERS for the signature or handwritten declaration.
  4. Keep ready:
    • Required documents for online payment of application fee/intimation charges.
    • A valid personal email ID and mobile number, which must remain active throughout the recruitment process. All communication from the authority will be sent to the registered email ID. Candidates should not share or use someone else’s email ID.

Can I apply for more than one post?

No. Only one application (specialist or generalist) per candidate. Multiple entries lead to disqualification.

Is the vacancy count final?

No. Vacancies are provisional and may change based on organisational needs.

When will admit cards be available?

Phase I admit cards will be issued after the application deadline (post 3 July). Main exam and interview cards later on the website.

Can PwBD candidates use scribes?

Yes, with necessary certificates. Extra 20 minutes per hour are allowed.

How does the Descriptive Test affect selection?

It is qualifying. The objective test score determines merit; descriptive must be passed for final consideration.

How are final scores calculated?

Main Objective marks count as 80%, interview adds 20% to form the total score.
