About the Post
IDBI Bank Ltd. invites applications from eligible Indian citizens and other eligible categories for the post of Part-Time Bank’s Medical Officer (BMO) on a purely contract basis. The BMO will serve at the Bank’s Corporate Office, Zonal Office, or Staff Quarters and provide medical consultation and related services to staff, dependents, and pensioners.

Eligibility Criteria

| Educational Qualification | MBBS/MD in Allopathic system from a recognized university. MD (Medicine) preferred. |
| Experience (MBBS) | Minimum 5 years as General Practitioner (as on 01 November 2025) |
| Experience (MD/Postgraduate) | Minimum 3 years as General Practitioner (as on 01 November 2025) |
| Other Conditions | Internship experience not counted |
| Nationality | Indian citizens, subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, Tibetan refugees (before 1 Jan 1962), PIO migrants from Myanmar/Sri Lanka with Government eligibility certificate |

Period & Conditions of Contract
- Purely on contract basis
- Initial tenure: 3 years, reviewed annually
- Extension: 2 additional years based on performance
- Termination: 1-month notice from either side
- Eligible for 20 days leave per year
- No additional benefits like permanent employees
- Substitute arrangement during absence must be made by the BMO at own cost
Job Role
- Attend staff, dependents, and pensioners at designated Bank dispensaries
- Diagnose ailments, prescribe treatment, administer injections
- Issue and countersign medical certificates
- Arrange hospital facilities for staff and family (spouse and children)
- Scrutinise medical and hospitalisation bills
- Issue order forms for special/costly drugs to Bank-approved chemists
- Provide medical opinion for transfer requests on medical grounds
- Provide emergency sessions/telemedicine when required
- Ensure smooth operation of the dispensary
Other Conditions
- Appointment does not grant permanent/part-time permanent employee benefits
- No additional staff allowed except Bank-provided compounder
- Bank may revise remuneration or duty hours as needed
- Canvassing will lead to disqualification
- Bank reserves full rights to reject applications without reason

Is this a permanent job?
No. This is a purely contractual part-time engagement.
How long is the contract?
The contract is for 3 years initially and can be extended for 2 more years after performance review.
Do I have to attach certificates now?
No. Only the biodata in the prescribed format must be sent initially. Certificates will be checked at joining.
Can doctors with MD apply?
Yes. In fact, candidates with MD (Medicine) are preferred and need only 3 years of experience.
Will internship experience count?
No. Experience gained during internship is not considered.
Is there any age limit?
Yes, applicants must not be above 67 years as on 01 November 2025.
Will the Bank provide a nurse or additional assistant?
No. Only a compounder will be provided. No other staff can be engaged.
Will I need to provide emergency services?
Yes. Emergency sessions and telemedicine may be required.
How much will I be paid?
Rs. 1000 per hour plus allowances as mentioned in the pay scale.
Can my application be rejected without reason?
Yes. The Bank reserves the right to reject any application without assigning reasons.
