About the Post

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notification for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026, which is the 21st edition of CTET. This examination is mandatory for candidates aspiring to pursue teaching as a profession at the Primary (Classes I–V) and Upper Primary (Classes VI–VIII) levels in schools across India.

CTET February 2026 will be conducted in offline mode across 132 cities in 20 languages.

Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2026

For Classes I–V (Primary Stage)

Candidates must fulfill any one of the following:

  • Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Senior Secondary with 45% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (as per NCTE norms)
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 4-year B.El.Ed
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
  • Graduation with 50% marks and B.Ed (subject to NCTE bridge course conditions)

For Classes VI–VIII (Elementary Stage)

Candidates must fulfill any one of the following:

  • Graduation and passed/appearing in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed
  • Graduation with 45% marks and passed/appearing in 1-year B.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.El.Ed
  • Senior Secondary with 50% marks and passed/appearing in 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
  • Graduation with 50% marks and passed/appearing in B.Ed (Special Education)
