About the Post
The Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Hojai has released an official recruitment notification inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of Peon posts. Eligible candidates can submit their applications in the prescribed format on or before 31st July 2026.

Pay Scale
Selected candidates will receive:
- Pay Scale: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000
- Grade Pay: ₹3,900
- Other admissible allowances as per ROP Rules, 2017.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have:
- Passed Class VIII (8th Standard).
Important Note
Candidates who have passed HSLC (Class 10) or any higher qualification are NOT eligible to apply.
Applicants must submit a self-declaration certificate stating that they have not passed HSLC or any equivalent or higher examination.
Preference may be given to candidates possessing special skills such as:
- Driving
- Plumbing
- Computer Knowledge
- Technical Skills
- Hard Skills
- Life Skills
provided they fulfill the prescribed educational qualification.
Nationality
Applicants must be Indian Citizens as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

Selection Process
Selection will be based only on Viva-Voce/Interview.
No written examination will be conducted.

Eligible candidates must submit the duly filled Standard Form of Application (Assam Gazette Part-IX) along with all required self-attested documents.

The envelope containing the application must be clearly superscribed as:
“APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF PEON IN THE OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT & SESSIONS JUDGE, HOJAI”
Candidates may either send their application to the above address or drop it in the designated Drop Box available at the Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Hojai.

Documents Required

- Four recent passport-size colour photographs (signed on the reverse side)

Important Instructions
- Candidates already in Government service must apply through the proper channel.
- Interview schedule and shortlisted candidates will be published on the official Hojai Judiciary website.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Multiple applications from the same candidate will lead to rejection.
- Incomplete applications or applications received after the last date will be rejected.
- Suppression of educational qualification or submission of false information will result in cancellation of candidature and legal action.
Job Responsibilities
Selected Peons may be assigned duties including:
- Office record maintenance
- Cleaning and upkeep of office premises
- Carrying files and documents
- Photocopying and fax-related work
- Assisting in diary and dispatch work
- Delivering official dak
- Watch and ward duties
- Opening and closing office rooms
- Cleaning furniture and office premises
- Assisting with computer-related office work
- Driving official vehicles (if possessing a valid licence)
- Park and campus maintenance
- Cooking and other duties assigned by the competent authority.
