About the Post
AIIMS Guwahati has released an official notification (Ref No. 06-19/2023-24/AIIMS/GHY/RES.C/Misc/ATF-27 dated 20 Nov 2025) for recruitment to the post of Senior Resident / Specialist Medical Officer under the Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF), Department of Psychiatry.
The post is funded under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) with support from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India and coordinated nationally by NDDTC, AIIMS Delhi.

No. This post is purely contractual for 11 months and does not ensure future regular or permanent recruitment.
Will the contract be extended after 11 months?
Extension is possible only based on performance, project requirement, funding availability, and approval from the competent authority.
Do I need to send both online and offline applications?

Will AIIMS Guwahati provide travel allowance for attending the interview?
No. Candidates must attend the interview at their own expense.
Can I apply without post-doctoral experience?
Yes. Post-doctoral experience is desirable but not compulsory.

Can my application be rejected if documents are incomplete?

Is experience during MD/DNB residency counted?
Only experience gained after essential qualification is counted unless clearly mentioned otherwise.

Selected candidates must join either immediately or within the joining period set by the institute.
