Step 1: Register on the government apprenticeship portal 

  • For Degree or Diploma in Engineering trades, register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal: https://nats.education.gov.in/.
  • For all other trades, including ITI, HR, and CSR, register on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal: https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/.
  • Ensure your profile is 100% complete and up-to-date with all required documents to receive your enrollment number. 

Step 2: Apply on the PGCIL website 

  • Go to the official PGCIL website: https://www.powergrid.in/.
  • Navigate to the Careers section and find the link for “Engagement of Apprentices.”
  • Click the Apply Online link to access the PGCIL recruitment portal: https://careers.powergrid.in/CCApprenticeShip/w/home. 

Step 3: Fill out and submit the application 

  • Fill in all your personal, educational, and trade details.
  • Upload the necessary scanned documents, including your educational certificates, photograph, and signature.
  • There is no application fee.
  • Submit the application and save or print a copy for your records. 

Required documents

You should have the following documents ready before you begin your application: 

  • Apprenticeship Registration/Enrollment Number from NATS or NAPS.
  • Aadhaar-Seeded Bank Account Details: Your Aadhaar-seeded bank account must be enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). You may need to provide a canceled cheque or a copy of your bank passbook.
  • Educational Certificates: Scanned copies of mark sheets and certificates for your qualifying examination (ITI, Diploma, or Degree).
  • Proof of Age: A copy of your Matriculation (10th) Certificate, Aadhaar Card, or Passport.
  • Caste Certificate: A recent OBC(NCL), SC, or ST caste certificate, if applicable.
  • Photograph and Signature: A recent color passport-sized photograph and a scanned signature.
