About the Scheme

The Pragyan Bharati Scheme was launched by the Government of Assam in 2020 to honor meritorious female students who secured 1st Division in the Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examination. Under this scheme, eligible students were awarded electric or petrol-based scooters to promote education and encourage mobility.

From the year 2025, the scheme will be extended to all students who score 80% or more in the Higher Secondary Final Examination conducted by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).

Eligibility Criteria for Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme

To be eligible for the scheme, the candidate must fulfill the following criteria:

1. Resident-ship: Must be a resident of Assam.
2. Academic Qualification: Must score 80% or more marks in the Higher Secondary Final Examination 2025 conducted by Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
3. Other Conditions:
   • Students in the betterment or reappearance category are not eligible.
   • Students outside Assam can apply provided they hold a valid PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) of Assam.

Objectives of Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme

• Encourage Competitiveness: To foster a competitive spirit and motivate students to excel in their studies.
• Incentivize Higher Education: To encourage students to pursue higher education.
• Enhance Mobility: To provide students with easier access to higher educational institutions by enhancing mobility.
• Improve Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER): To increase the number of students pursuing education in Assam.

How to Apply for Pragyan Bharati Scheme?

1. Online Application Process:
   • Initially, in 2020, an online portal was created for application submission. However, from 2025 onwards, merit lists will be prepared based on data from ASSEB.
   • Eligible students will be required to fill out an online application form once the link is available.
2. Merit List Based Application:
   • The merit lists for eligible students will be released by the Directorate of Higher Education, Assam, and will be available on the official website.
   • Link to Online Application: The online application link will be provided by the Director of Higher Education after the merit list is released.

Assam Scooty Merit List 2025

The Directorate of Higher Education, Assam released the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme Merit List on 11th May 2025. The merit list is categorized based on gender and stream:
